The Village Voice

I served as Creative Director of The Village Voice, New York’s iconic alt-weekly known for its fierce journalism, cultural criticism, and downtown attitude. Over the course of a year, I led the visual direction of the paper—working closely with editors, writers, and illustrators to bring a bold, graphic edge to every cover and spread.

From political satire to underground nightlife, I oversaw design across print and digital, art directing weekly issues that captured the energy, grit, and contradictions of the city. I commissioned illustration, photography, and design that pushed against convention—keeping the Voice’s legacy of visual rebellion alive.

It was a dream role at a legendary publication, and one that sharpened my instincts for storytelling, typographic experimentation, and fast-paced editorial work.
